“Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination and the journey. They are home”. – Anna Quindlen.
Books. Are. Home. I absolutely love this quote. Reading is everything to me if you aren’t aware. I participate in a monthly book blog link-up, and I pretty much wear out my library card on a weekly basis. If I am breathing, then I am reading.
Books have always been a love for me as well as a literary escape when times in my life were tumultuous. But words, when they leap off the page, can take you anywhere. I love getting lost in a story! Reading is so important and I am happy that I have passed on my love of reading to my oldest daughter. My youngest daughter is three and has a very, very short attention span so she likes books, but then something else grabs her attention and off she goes! 🙂
My oldest daughter absolutely loves the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
My youngest daughter’s shelves are mostly board books that include Paw Patrol and Blue’s Clues which are two of her favorites.
My bookshelves are mostly mysteries. I do have a shelf of non-fiction as well but mysteries are my favorite genre and are books that I go to again and again.
I feel like books will carry you through hard times when nothing else will. When you need to learn, pick up a book. You need to figure out something, pick up a book.
I hope my girls always continue to learn and cultivate their love of reading.
Are you a bookworm as well? Let me know in the comments!

Well, you know the answer is yes. Sort of. I don’t feel like much of bookworm these days, more like a wannabe book worm. I love how you’re encouraging your daughters to read because some of my earliest and happiest memories are going to library to pick out books. And I remember when I was could afford to buy books as an adult and how awesome it felt to own a book and not have to return it. Now days, I both buy and borrow but I love having a collection of my favorite books at my fingertips. They are my comfort.

I feel like in this day and age especially with children, it is important to get them reading and loving it at an early age. There are just so many distractions for them nowadays!
I hope you get your reading mojo back soon! I know how much you used to enjoy reading 🙁
