No beating around the bush here with pretty words. I am just laying it out there.
My husband lost his job. The company he worked for laid off a bunch of people due to what is currently going on in our country, and his name was on the list, so… here we are.
I know that our situation is not unique. If you see the stats posted every week in the news, there are unprecedented numbers of Americans filing for unemployment. Many families just like mine, trying to navigate these uncertain times.
Since our state has been in lockdown, my emotions have been all over the place. California has shut down their schools for almost 4 weeks now and everything feels very apocalyptical every time one turns on the news.
We are all in the same scary boat.
Some days are easier than others and I know every day won’t be filled with anxiety. Treading water won’t always be the M.O.
All this to say, hang in there everyone. You are doing the best you can. We are all doing the best we can.
And for right now, that’s enough.
I’m so sorry to hear this. It is a very scary boat we all find ourselves in. I keep thinking this too shall pass. Sadly not fast enough. I will add your family to my prayers.

Oh, Mackenzie. I am sorry. I got laid off in the Great Recession but this is so much different, so sudden and unexpected. I am sorry that you and your family are having to deal with this. You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers in this crazy time. Someday, hopefully soon, things will start to resemble a new, good normal and we can get back to work and back to living again. Here for you, if you need to vent, talk or anything.
